Biography
David Thor Katrinarson is an Icelandic actor, writer and musician based in Reykjavík. A graduate of the Stella Adler Academy of Acting in Los Angeles, he has worked extensively across film, television and theatre in Iceland and internationally.
His screen credits include HBO’s True Detective: Night Country and The Flight Attendant, The Darkness directed by Lasse Hallström, Hildur, and the feature film Greenland 2: Migration. His Icelandic film and television work includes Afturelding, Trapped and Fractures. On stage, David has performed with both the National Theatre of Iceland and Reykjavík City Theatre. He is a two-time nominee for the Gríma Awards, Iceland’s national theatre awards.
In 2026, David co-created and performed in Gæðablóð on the main stage of the National Theatre of Iceland.
He is fluent in Icelandic and English and speaks Norwegian, and works comfortably across Icelandic, Scandinavian and international productions.
