Born and raised in East Berlin -a star graduate of ETI Schauspielschule-Berlin / Europäisches Theaterinstitut- Jördis Richter rapidly found her way to the stage as an in-demand actor and singer. In her young career she has already performed internationally everywhere from Schaubühne Berlin, to London’s Royal Opera House where she infamously starred as a psychopathic teenage boy in Composer Ben Frost’s infamous modern Opera The Wasp Factory.
Jördis has stared in several television series and feature films in her native Germany including the acclaimed Miss Sixty, in which she memorably portrayed a mischievous Art student and innapropriately young mistress. She is equally well known as the uncompromising, no-bullshit young detective in Germany’s favourite primetime drama series Kommissarin Lucas. More recently she has appeared opposite Denis Quaid and Richard Dormer in the international hit Scandi-Noir series Fortitude on Sky Atlantic/Amazon.
Jördis has several languages and flawless English with an uniquely trans-Atlantic accent. She has weapons training, and boasts a variety of other skills including Le Coque movement, classic and modern dance, horse-riding, and she can hold her own with a sword. She swims in the North Atlantic Ocean all year round in her adopted home of Iceland and is addicted to audio-books narrated by Stephen Fry.
