Álfheiður Marta is a Reykjavík-based director working across scripted drama, non-scripted series, and high-end commercial storytelling.

She recently directed the drama series Death of a Horse (Act4 / Windlight Pictures) for RÚV and ZDF, currently in post-production. In 2023, she directed two episodes of the Nordic noir series Black Sands II (Glassriver) for Sýn, distributed internationally by All3Media.

Alongside scripted work, Álfheiður has directed non-scripted series including Vinátta (2021) for Síminn and Mannflóran (2023) for RÚV. Her short documentary Lesblinda was nominated for an Edda Award.

She has also directed commercial campaigns for clients such as Icelandair, TM Insurance, Landsvirkjun Energy, and The Bank of Iceland, as well as public service campaigns for Pink Ribbon and Stígamót, earning multiple nominations at the Icelandic Advertising Awards.

Álfheiður Marta was nominated Director of the Year at the Icelandic TV Awards in both 2023 and 2024.
